St Mary’s School Visit!

We were delighted to welcome St Mary’s  school group into our education centre recently, students spent an action packed, fun filled day learning all about primate welfare and conservation.

We mixed the day up with short educational talks on the similarities and differences between humans and primates and primate enclosure design and a variety of action packed activities. The children were full of energy and enthusiasm so started off the day after a quick talk running around the woods on a “safari hunt” , followed by den building, where they got to choose whether to build a den for themselves or for the native wildlife. This was followed by a game to gather as many “fruits” as they could for their team before it was time to refuel and get some lunch. After lunch we had another quick talk then it was time to for our young minds to get creative and build an enclosure for their selected species of primates. It was great to see all the different ideas and how they all made sure to add lots of different furniture for the primates to climb on and activities for them to do as well as lovely places to rest  and find privacy. It was great to see how much they had learned throughout teh day and how much fun they had while doing it. They were a fantastic group and we look forward to seeing them again in the future.
