Emmadee’s Great Wall of China Walk

The photo’s are from two years ago walking the three peaks. (Hoping we get better weather in China)

I am walking the Great Wall of China with a group of friends in September. Every two years we walk a challenge and this year my charity is The Jim Cronin Memorial Fund due to the amazing work he and his team have done over the years and the work still goes on.
I first found Monkey World through watching monkey business on TV, when the very little Hsiao-Ning was born in 2003. I first visited in 2006 and have been as much as I can since adopting two primate’s one being Mimi and the other changing throughout the years.

Update:

So, as I come to the end of my first day of walking, it a challenge in this heat of 34° but we all made it to the end of day one.

I am settling into this walking life, well maybe for this week only. Need to push on. The great wall itself is so lovely the views around it are just breath taking, and that’s not because I’ve walked up loads of mountains.
Here are a few photos of day one. We also did a task of rebuild the wall this morning.

Hope this help raise as much money as possible.
Thank you, Emmadee

Update 2:

3 days down and two more to go.
All well so far calves starting to hurt but no blisters yet, we have gotten to do parts of the wall that not everyone gets to do, as they are letting it fall away naturally.

Today took us through one of the parts that has almost gone, then we had lunch at the top of the mountain before starting on the tourist’s spots took 4 hrs today. The group I am with are amazing, yesterday when resting we were all singing queen, laughing and just pushed each other through the day.

Tomorrow another day another part of the wall, feels good to be doing this for a good charity and making amazing memories.

Thank you
Emmadee

Final update:

Now I’m finally home and have access to more Internet.
China’s great wall walked 47km of it. Not only restored parts but also the wild unrestored part, climbing up to places that were really broken. Eating lunch in places that were just the best. Making new friend and memory’s with both new and old. It was amazing had a good challenging
